Double Leg Coil Lifter is one of the most economical coil lifter with the two-sided legs , which can be used for limited space horizontal steel coil handling, therefore, it also can be called the narrow aisle coil lifter.  The double leg narrow aisle coil lifter is designed to handle and position steel coils close together. The steel coils lifting devices can be designed with adjustable beam, allow them to handle a variety of coil widths.

Integral lifting bail saves headroom and minimizes inspection normally associated with welded lifting bails. Upper beam and down legs are made of high strength special alloy steel reducing the physical size of the lifter.

Main load-bearing hook beam - The main load-bearing beam is the main load-bearing combination part. It has a safety factor of 4 and has a suspension ring on the upper part, which can be directly connected to the crane hook. Marked notches and built-in parking stand on upper beam allows for easy adjustment of down legs for specific coil widths. The edges of the down legs have a radius for easy maneuvering of legs into the inside of the coil. Lifting bail has a radius on the upper portion to prevent damage to the crane hook.

The rigging - used to connect the load-bearing beam and the short arm hooks, which are placed on the both end of the bearing beams.

Usage and precautions and double leg coil lifters

• Hanging the coil lifter on the hook of the overhead cranes and gantry cranes
• Operate the crane to lift the coil lifter up to certain height, and then to check and make sure the beam of lifter is balanced  and   make sure the lifting chain is not knotted.
• Move the overhead crane over the loads or coils that needs to be handled
• Load the coil by double leg lifter and then move the loads to the designated area
• Lower the steel coils and unload.

Note: During testing, the bearing beam of the lifters should be kept in balance, which defection angle less than 1°. When the coil lifers is balanced, the operation can be conducted.

Maintenance of double leg coil lifter

• When the steel coil lifer spreader finished operation, it  must be placed on a special shelf, stored in a ventilated, dry and clean factory building, and kept by a special person.
• The surface of the  double leg coil lifting spreader should always be protected against rust, and it is not allowed to store in acid, alkali, salt, chemical gas and humid environment.
• It is forbidden to store the steel coil spreader in the high temperature area.
• As fir the rotating parts of lifting spreader, it should be cleaned and lubricated regularly to prevent dry friction and jamming.
