Our client is from a company in Latin America, which is specializing in the sales, production, service and technology of forest machinery factory designed for the cut-to-length method.Challenge of double hoist crane design
Before the factory expansion, the forest machinery assembly line had mostly wall-mounted jib crane s and EOT crane s (electric overhead travelling). The components to be lifted had to remain small in size, and limited lifting height restricted movement. Some lifting had to always occur at a specific phase on the line where there was little room to lift.
Our client's goal was to extend the lifting height and operating area of the double hoist cranes and make the attachment of objects more versatile. When the double hoist crane needs to be equipped with two electric hoists, the following items should be considered.
- The capacity of two electric hoists does not exceed the design capacity of the double hoist crane. That is, if you want to hang two 1Ton electric hoists, the lifting capacity of the double hoist crane should be 2ton or greater.
- If the total lifting capacity of the double hoist crane is greater than or equal to 1Ton, the reconstruction must be carried out by an enterprise with the necessary qualifications.
- Anti-collision system. For double hoist cranes, the anti-collision devices are needed to ensure the crane operation safety.
- If the lifting item is long, it can be designed with a single switch that can be used simultaneously or individually.
