Main applications of hook double girder goliath crane

• The goliath gantry crane are widely used at open storage or railway for material handling for the operation of loading & unloading, storaging, etc.
• Equipped with special lifting devices for special use and loads handling operations.
• The goliath crane are usually used in the working environment: -25℃～+40℃, humidity ≤85%, elevation: ≤1000m, power supply: 3-phase, 380V, 50Hz (made according to the order).
• The general use double girder gantry crane is not supposed to be used in application with high temperature solution, flammable, explosive, corrosion, overloading, dust and other dangerous operations.

Main structure and features of double girder gantry cranes

The main structure of the goliath cranes are mainly composed of gantry mounting, double girder trolley & gantry crane traveling mechanisms and electric parts.

Gantry Mounting

• "A" frame structure with tack bolts and connecting bolts to assemble main parts together;
• Maximum space between legs was provided to ensure that loads or objects could be lifted between legs at the cantilever end;
• All partial rail box beam structure main girder, the camber meet national standard (0.9~1.4)/1000S, flange and bolts connect main girders and legs;
• Box structure legs, both sides connect separately with main girders and lower separators.
• Materials such as Q235B or Q345B (similar as Fe37 or Fe52).

Trolley& trolley frame

• The gantry crane is consisted of trolley frame, lifting mechanism and trolley traveling mechanism, etc.
• The goliath crane trolley frame is welded of steel plates with high intensity and strong rigidity.
• The gantry crane trolley frame is equipped with lifting mechanism and trolley traveling mechanism.

Lifting Mechanism

• One set of independent driving device for single hook and two separate driving device for double hook (main and auxiliary).
• The lifting mechanism operates on the basis of a high-speed rotating YZR type crane special motor and a gear coupling drive gear reducer. The wire rope drum is then turned by the reducer's low speed shaft. The lifting function of the hook can be achieved as long as the control of motors and their positive and negative rotation is maintained.

Crane Traveling Mechanism

• Drive separately.
• Vertical trinity drive, compact and safe.
• The interference fit key connects the wheels and axles, and the angle bearing box for the wheel group.
• Two sets of outage terminal limiters and a backstop device with a buffer for accurate crane positioning;
• When used outdoors, the goliath gantry cranes are equipped with rail clamp and anchorage for wind and storm resistance.

Electrics

• Module speed control, allowing for slow and double speeds.
• Control cabin with a logical layout that is simple to maintain.

Power distribution & security protection

The distribution system is made up of a master breaker, a master power contactor, and main circuits of mechanisms, which allow the subcircuit to remain isolated when it is not in use. In the distribution control circuit, there are starting and emergency switches, a power indicator, safe and limit switches for master power, and short circuit, overcurrent, overload, and voltage protections that turn off when power is interrupted. Zero protection for mechanisms. If the handles are not back in zero position when fault recovery, they cannot auto start.

Overload & short circuit protection

Master air switch in master circuit, small air switch or fuse protection as overload and short circuit protection in control circuit. Over current & overload protect functions are set in all control cabinets.

Zero position protection

Every controller should be back to zero position, then restart master contactor when the crane start or restart to work.

Limit protection

• limit switch in lifting mechanism break the control circuit when hook get the limitation for ensure security.
• limit switches in both trolley and crane travel mechanisms break control circuit when traveling to the limit position. It can only travel to the other side.
• limit switches are also set in the door of cabin and balustrades. The master power can be started when these doors are totally closed.
• emergency protection- Emergency switch could quickly break the power in emergency.

Overload protection

Overload limiter is set in lifting mechanism, it could break power, alarm with sound and light and show the number when overloaded.

Control Mode

• Cabin control, fully enclosed, steel plate bending production with enough strength and stiffness, broad vision;
• Linkage control design could ensure driver to operate safely and comfortably. Safe and convenient passageway, comfortable seat. The cabin is equipped with fire extinguisher, display screen of overload limiter.
• Remote control & pendent control are optional based on your lifting requirements and application conditions.
