Main girder designs of small steel gantry cranes

For different applications, the main girder of the steel gantry cranes can be designed into

• I-beam is used as the main girder, when the small gantry crane is designed with 2-3 meters span.
• I beam with a welded steel square tube as the main girder, when the steel gantry crane is designed with span length larger than 6 meters.

FAQs of Small steel gantry cranes

• How many ways are there for the steel gantry crane to turn around? Which type i is the default or standardization one?

In-situ 360° rotation and Common types 360° rotation, the default or standardized one is common type rotation, which will be presented in the following videos for your reference.

The in-situ rotation is that the steel gantry crane turns about or rotates with the midpoint between the two wheels as the center of rotation. This type of rotation is widely adopted when the application space is relatively small for example, the span of the factory building is 10m, and the span of the gantry crane is 6m, in this case, it is necessary to adopted the in-situ 360 degrees rotating .
A normal rotation is the steel gantry crane rotates with one side of the supporting leg and wheel at center.

• For different types of turning operation, do the steel gantry cranes adopt different types of remote controls?

The remote controls used for the two types of turning operations are the same, but there are two types of remote controls can be used for the operation of steel gantry crane one is the remote control with combination key and the other is designed with single key control.

• The combination button control means the turning operation is conducted by pressing on two buttons. For example, 1 is to turn left, 2 is to turn right, south+1 is to turn left, and south+2 is to turn right. North +1 is to turn left, and if you only press 1, it is an invalid command.
• Single button control means the turning operation can be controlled by pressing on one button, to turning left or turn right. Single-button control operation is more convenient, but with more complicated electrical appliances and higher control price. And the selection is depends on your lifting requirements and application conditions.

• What is the funtion of the struts of the ground beams of hand push steel gantry crane ?

It is designed for steel gantry crane to get higher stability under loading which is standardized for hand-push steel gantry with capacity of 10 tons and above and optional design for steel gantry with small tonnages.

• Can the portable steel gantry crane move about under loading?

The portable steel gantry crane can be moved under loading when it adopts the motorized travelling system. On the other hand, it is not supposed to move when it is with the loads when it adopts the hand push travelling design. It is highly recommended that the steel gantry cranes adopts motorized travelling when the rated capacity is 5 ton or above.
